I enjoy heading out into nature to find the beautiful shot. My wife calls it "the hunt." I agree. Sometimes I have an image in my mind for a long time, sometimes I've just got to find it.
BUT, what I love about photography is the joy that it can bring. Living in the states provides luxuries that I don't think we even realize. One of those luxuries is the access we have to photos. Memories recorded for eternity. It could be a lack of access to technology issue, which is fading in some situations, but I think it is also a resource issue.
I spent many years working amongst the poor along the border in Mexico. One thing I noticed lacking were photos. Traveling to Ecuador over the past few years I noticed the same... a lack of real photo prints.
This past week, I was able to return to Ecuador with some framed and matted prints that I took last year. I surprised the family with photos of their four beautiful girls.
THIS IS WHAT I LOVE ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY!
